Honoring our rising young ladies

This event will have an impact on girls aged 7 to 18. The Gala's purpose is to grow teen girls' self-esteem while teaching them critical skills that will help them succeed in the future, as well as to raise awareness about the mental health issue by providing direct resources to those in need. In addition, Girls will learn how to make a good first impression, how to speak confidently, how to use basic manners, and how to dine gracefully.

The general admission ticket only includes three course meals, workshop sessions, and live entertainment.

The VIP ticket includes a three-course meal, workshop sessions, raffle tickets for exclusive prizes, and front-row seating at special dining tables.

 Iesha Tyler is a Kansas City native who grew up in Wyandotte County. She is the founder and CEO of I AM 4:Thirteens Inc., a non-profit mentoring program for adolescent girls. Her purpose and passion are to advocate for first-generation college students and raise their awareness of college and career preparation opportunities.


Iesha is a strong woman who inspires other women to live fearlessly and purposefully. Her public speaking appearances also inspire and impact young people. Iesha also serves at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine as the Coordinator of Youth Programs and Diversity Recruitment while pursuing her MBA at the UMKC Henry Bloch School of Management.

Hi, my name is Shi’Ayrr Brown, I am a senior at Shawnee Mission Northwest high school. Shi’Ayrr also serves as a Big sister Lead ambassador for I AM 4:thirteens. I have served as a member with I AM 413 for four years and have had the opportunity to serve as a spokesperson and host for several programs and events.


I have been awarded honorable mentions for my hard work and dedication to the community. My desire is to become a professional public speaker and a psychologist to study the mind and behavior to solve problems, such as treating mental illness. My goal upon graduation is to attend Howard University and join the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Please help me make this a dream come true.

Sade Garr

Sade Garr-Tyler MA, LPC, NCC was born and raised in Kansas City. Who has overcome several challenges during her life. She has witnessed firsthand the effects of poverty, homelessness, parental substance abuse, and desertion because of her previous traumatic experiences. Sade's adversities have exposed to her God-given abilities of tenacity, resiliency, and encouragement to overcome! Sade graduated from Dallas Christian College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in youth and family ministry. After that, she earned a master's degree in counseling from Mid-American Nazarene University, with a focus on marriage, couples, and family therapy.

Shae Perry was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She is an UMKC Graduate, with a degree in Film & Media Arts. In 2017, she launched her own videography and entertainment company titled, “SFTL Entertainment.” SFTL stands for ShaeFromTheLou, which is the nickname she in known by. In 2019, Shae was awarded UMKC’s Outstanding Senior Award, UMKC’s Leadership Award, and became certified in Radio Marketing. Shae worked 2 years as Brand Ambassador for Top Non-profit Big Brothers Big Sisters KC; where she produced Spotify Ads, Voice Over Projects, and presented to over 300 + people in the Kansas City area.

Shae is currently an “On Air Radio Personality” on KPRS Hot 103 Jamz and her entertainment name is Deona HuSTLe. KPRS Hot 103 Jamz is the oldest continually Black family-owned radio station in the United States. Deona is her middle name, and HuSTLe can't be spelled without the STL; paying homage to her hometown. Shae is also an Account Coordinator at Crux KC. Crux KC is a Kansas City marketing firm that combines executive-level marketing and business strategy to provide a simple, smart and affordable outsourced marketing solution for clients.

Shae has been heavily involved in community events and interviews major celebrities & leaders such as Mayor Quinton Lucas. Shae Perry generously volunteers her time serving as a Board Member at UMKC College of Arts & Science's Alumni Board. She has also emceed D1 Men’s & Women’s Sports and continues to host events that engage our communities.

Christina is an experienced Career and Technical Education Instructor with a history of developing programs to engage students in high-quality STEM offerings during the school day and in the after school space.  Christina has 10 years of experience in Information Technology, teaching, and career and tech administration and possesses numerous education certifications.

Marie DiCarlo is a Kansas City, MO native who is rooted in love for her hometown.

Marie Attended Visitation Grade School and St. Teresa’s High School.

She went on to attend Boston College graduating Cum Laude.

After a year in a volunteer corps outside New York City she proceeded to get her Master of Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in New York.

During this time her father, Vincent S. DiCarlo, was diagnosed and succumbed to cancer.

Marie and her father were very close, and this was a life changing event for her.

Life took on an urgency and preciousness she had never known.

She passionately went after and attained her pre-medical training at UCLA. Marie attended Creighton University Medical School where she graduated in the top 10% of her class.  

Lakeisha Paul

Mrs. Paul is a native of Jacksonville Florida where she attended high school.  She moved to Savannah Georgia after Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University.  


She taught in Savannah Chatham County public schools for sixteen years before relocating and moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 2012. Mrs. Paul has a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration.
