The Leadership and Entrepreneurship program focuses on journalism, media, news reporting, and broadcasting. The workshop is designed to assist participants develop their core journalistic skill sets while also teaching them how to record broadcasts using the tools and methods that are used in the industry. In this course, participants must collaborate to solve problems, share skills, propose new and innovative solutions, and produce original and impactful journalism, broadcasting, and media skills while working in a newsroom setting.
Girls will complete one core project during the program. The first collaboration will be with Talking Points, in which students will be given access to build a reporting tool related to a trending topic, allowing participants to collaborate with a local Fox 4 news outlet to propose an innovative way for them to engage with their community.
This program will be split into two sections. The first part of this program will be primarily focused on leadership and learning the materials required to build your project for part two, which will be primarily focused on the core of entrepreneurship from a media perspective.
