I CAN S.T.E.M Workshop

Participants in this workshop will conduct research on a website or app in order to create and present paper prototypes to their peers. Participants will be able to collaborate with professional STEM women and participate in hands-on STEM learning and activities that will help them advance them for the pitch competition. 

Some of our participants will be chosen to compete in the app design competition at the I AM 4:Thirteens Girl Boss conference. The chosen girls will be paired with a mentor who will assist them in developing their presentation for the app design competition.

Facilitators: Kiersten Jackson: Kiersten enjoys helping others. She enjoys advocating for those who are unable to speak for themselves. She is a quick learner who enjoys trying new things. Kiersten is a well-rounded individual with a variety of skill sets to offer, and she enjoys being a part of opportunities that foster growth and creativity. Crishemma Livingston: Program Administrator: Crishemma Livingston works as an Application Specialist at Burns & McDonnell Engineering Consulting firm. A Kansas City native, she graduated from Center Senior High school and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political science from Howard University. As a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), Crishemma hopes to create and fill the pipeline of STEM professionals with minority youth.
